Today, as part of the Alliance for Agri-PV, we published an open letter to the federal government with a clear call to action: Agri-PV must be recognized as a key technology for the energy transition and receive targeted support.
The alliance's key demands:
Clear distinction between agri-PV and traditional ground-mounted PV systems
Targeted support under the EEG through a separate sub-segment
Prompt approval under state aid law for Solar Package 1
In our experience, many projects fail not because of a lack of commitment on the part of farmers or due to technological limitations, but because of undefined parameters, unclear funding mechanisms, and lengthy approval processes. The energy transition can only succeed if policymakers, the agricultural sector, and the energy industry work together—and agri-PV is a key driver of this effort.
The Alliance for Agri-PV brings together members of the Association for Sustainable Agri-PV (VnAP), farmers, and various research institutions that are actively engaged in Agri-PV. Together, they are advocating for clear policy direction to help Agri-PV reach market maturity.
Elysium Solar expressly supports the Alliance’s call and urges the federal government to establish a reliable regulatory framework for agri-PV in Germany now.
