Agri-PV is increasingly becoming a focal point of the energy and agricultural policy debate. In a newly published position paper on the use of photovoltaics on agricultural land, the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) highlights agri-PV as a particularly sustainable solution. The study concludes that agri-PV enables the dual use of agricultural land without displacing agricultural production, while simultaneously making a significant contribution to the expansion of renewable energy. Especially against the backdrop of increasing competition for land, growing climate extremes, and ambitious expansion targets for solar energy, the Federal Environment Agency considers Agri-PV an important building block for sustainable energy and agricultural policy. The UBA expressly recommends further strengthening this form of photovoltaics and giving it greater priority over land-intensive energy crops.

For us, this latest assessment confirms that we are on the right track. Our agri-PV projects are already demonstrating how agricultural use, economic stability for farms, and climate-friendly electricity generation can be effectively combined. Approximately 90% of the land remains available for agricultural use, while regional solar power is generated at the same time. Through innovative, movable module systems and soil-conserving implementation, we create installations that protect crops from extreme weather, generate additional income, and increase local acceptance. As a specialized developer of agri-PV projects, we are actively shaping this development and are already implementing the recommendations of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in concrete projects—together with farmers, municipalities, and regional partners.
